Case Study 3
This is a brief overview of the work Andrew did with Cheapnet, a more detailed Case Study will be available later.
Cheapnet
Andrew Bonar was the co-founder of Cheapnet and Sales and Marketing Director for many years before he left to start eBanx. eBanx was one of Europe's first payment gateways, meaning if you wanted to sell anything online and accept credit cards you probably spoke to Andrew at some point in time.
Cheapnet was the UK's cheapest Internet provider and also rated as 3rd best out of hundreds of providers. At the time the cheapest providers charged ten pound a month for internet access, we offered it for less than half of that price. After Andrew had left Cheapnet he was tasked with a number of projects and was hired to provide a number of services as the Top Expert in his field.
This included but was in no way limited to:
- New website design, website content
- Offline Advertising Campaign Management
- Ad campaign artwork, copy etc
- Online Ad campaign management

In the same year Andrew was responsible for a 100K pound advertising campaign promoting the Cheapnet range of services he also launched an affiliate sales channel, ensuring those kinds of advertising spends would be a thing of the past, with an army of resellers and a handful of super-affiliates.
Top put it simply for 6 years if it was in any way related to Sales, Marketing, Advertising, Customer Communications or customer care it was Andrews responsibility to get the job done.
Andrew personally drew the company logo, as well as creating its Print Adverts, sales slogans and banner adverts. Every word on any site, letter or email would have been written or edited by Andrew prior to release.
Success: The UK's oldest independent ISP. Cheapnet was designed to become an automated system within a few years of its launch ensuring its founders did not need to be involved in anyway in day to day operations. Cheapnet is still trading at a profit, to the benefit of its shareholders and employees.
